Hackney’s own Eliza Rose stepped into fabric on Friday night with serious momentum behind her. Ahead of the takeover, she unveiled a new version of “Pingers” featuring cult UK rap figure CASISDEAD, a collaboration that feels oddly inevitable in the best possible way.
Originally built around Eliza’s playful, rave fuelled energy, CASISDEAD’s addition pulls the track deeper into his trademark neon lit universe. His verse adds a darker, cinematic edge without losing the tongue in cheek garage bounce that made the original hit so hard.
The release also tees up FABRICLIVE presents Eliza Rose, arriving 29th May via fabric Records. Across 20 tracks and just over an hour of runtime, the mix moves effortlessly through UKG, breaks, bass and club cuts from names including Introspekt, Yoshi, Zed Bias and Amaliah, alongside Eliza’s own “Pingers” and closer “Morning Light”. It feels less like a traditional mix compilation and more like a snapshot of where UK underground club culture is right now.
Eliza’s rise still feels rooted in the scene that built her. Long before platinum plaques and BRIT nominations, she was a fixture in London record shops and dancefloors, sharpening the selector instincts that eventually powered “B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All)” to Number One status. Since then, she’s managed something few artists pull off convincingly, balancing genuine underground credibility with crossover success.
Meanwhile, CASISDEAD remains one of UK rap’s most elusive and inventive voices. His dystopian storytelling and noir inspired world building have earned him cult status over the past decade, culminating in last year’s Famous Last Words, a dark, synth soaked project that blurred the lines between rap, cyberpunk and melancholic pop.
Together on “Pingers”, the pairing works because both artists understand atmosphere. It’s sweaty club music with a cinematic afterglow, built for the dancefloor, but with enough personality to linger long after the night ends.
