The New Consistent - Party Tricks (EP)

West Midlands artist The New Consistentcontinues to carve out a distinctive space between hip hop, soul and alternative music, blending fluid lyricism with rich, genre blurring production. Backed by the likes of BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, Wordplay Magazine and Link Up TV, he’s steadily built a reputation as one of the region’s most compelling emerging voices.

Having supported Rejjie Snow and Children of Zeus, recorded at Abbey Road Studios, and sold out his last two headline shows, The New Consistent now returns with Party Tricks, an EP centred around love, attachment and emotional survival.

The project explores the complexities of romantic relationships and friendships, tracing a journey through unhealthy patterns, self awareness and healing. Lead single Scratching Bites, released on 8th May, sets the tone for the record. Written during the early stages of an intense but ultimately unhealthy connection, the track captures the rush of affection and validation alongside the quiet instinct that something feels off beneath the surface.

Described by BBC 6 Music as an artist with “detailed lyrical images which give such a vivid picture of the world he inhabits,” The New Consistent continues to pair introspective storytelling with immersive, emotionally charged soundscapes.
