Rising singer songwriter Essosa continues her ascent with the release of the dreamy visuals for her latest single “He’s Not All That”, arriving ahead of her debut headline show at London’s Jazz Cafe on May 12 (Cop tickets here).

Set in a soft, ethereal bedroom, the visuals centre on female friendship and quiet empowerment, as Essosa is comforted by her inner circle. It’s a fitting backdrop for a track that pairs airy production with angelic vocals, unpacking the emotional aftermath of impulsive late-night decisions.

At its core, “He’s Not All That” captures the comedown that follows romantic illusion, when clarity finally sets in. Essosa balances vulnerability with subtle humour, reflecting on connections that feel full of promise before revealing themselves to be little more than convenience.

The single offers another glimpse into her upcoming six track EP Crush!, due May 1 via United Masters. The project leans into glossy, feel good sonics and playful storytelling, moving between pre-party excitement, dancefloor energy and the hazy glow of the afterparty, with production from jkarri and WAVSDNTDIE.

Following earlier release “Touch bby”, Essosa continues to showcase her versatility, blending flirtation, R&B textures and club ready rhythms while nodding to both iconic and contemporary influences.
