OURAA - BABA (Official Video)
South East London artist OURAA returns with her new single BABA, an emotionally charged release blending Yoruba lyricism with uplifting house production. Out now, the track marks another confident step into the pop and dance space.
Following previous single 3am, which earned support from COLORS and tastemaker press, BABA reflects the pressure of modern life, burnout, financial strain and global unrest. Rather than sit in despair, OURAA turns those feelings into something powerful and moving.
At its core, BABA is a prayer. Speaking directly to God, she uses the word “Baba” as a call for comfort and reassurance in chaotic times. The result is personal songwriting paired with a beat that hits both emotionally and physically.
A performance video directed by Tobi Kenneth Fadoju of Lost Boyz, with choreography from longtime collaborator Anmol Kaur, adds another layer to the release, highlighting themes of faith, resilience and community.
Since launching her project in 2016, OURAA has built an impressive catalogue, appearing on Nines’ Crop Circle 3, contributing vocals for Ella Eyre, The 1975, P!NK, Demi Lovato and Little Simz, while performing at Glastonbury Festival and The Great Escape.
With BABA, OURAA delivers a timely reminder that vulnerability, faith and hope can still thrive when life feels heavy.
