BombayMami has released her most uncompromising single yet, ‘Gulabi Mantra’, out now via MNRK to mark International Women’s Day. Profits from the track bundle will be donated to SHEWISE (UK) and ActionAid India, supporting their work empowering women and girls. You can also help by purchasing the exclusive charity bundle here.
Inspired by India’s Gulabi Gang, the women’s collective known for standing up against violence and injustice, the track is a bold statement on bodily autonomy. BombayMami describes it as a mantra about reclaiming ownership of our bodies, voices and choices. Both sensual and powerful, ‘Gulabi Mantra’ lands as a rallying cry for self-determination.
The single follows recent releases ‘Energy (Chak Dum Dum)’, ‘Jaloux’ and ‘Curse’, alongside the viral success of her Fire in Delhi snowboarding campaign, which has surpassed 10 million views and drawn praise from Maya Jama, Sid Sriram, Biig Piig and Kojey Radical. The striking visual also caught the attention of tastemakers including BBC Introducing, BBC Asian Network, Vogue, Elle India and Trippin World.
These releases offer a first look at BombayMami’s forthcoming debut album ‘Peaceful Attitude’, produced by Tudor Monroe, StillNaS and Mintsauce. The project blends cultural influences and expansive soundscapes while exploring womanhood, boundaries, self-trust and growth.
BombayMami will also bring her live show to The Great Escape Festival on 15 May, as she continues building momentum ahead of the album’s release.
