RADIOHOP - MAD FLUTE (Single)
Amsterdam’s RADIOHOP move as one, and on “MAD FLUTE,” the second single from HARD TO HANDLE, that unity hits hard. It’s raw, groove-led, and deliberately unpolished.
Their second album and first on Melting Pot Music was initially framed as a “beat tape,” but that undersells it. HARD TO HANDLE is louder, fuller, and more immediate, no gloss, just energy. Built for vinyl as much as digital, it feels straight from the source.
Formed in Amsterdam around 2020, the quartet Joshua Lutz (keys), Euan Jenkins (drums), Johnny Biner (guitar), and Joel Svedberg (bass) quickly tapped into the city’s scene via Steppin’ Into Tomorrow and Super-Sonic Jazz. Their approach is instinctive and collective, no egos, just texture, rhythm, and deep listening.
Past releases on Wicked Wax Music and collaborations with Kid Sublime set the tone, but this feels like a step up. HARD TO HANDLE captures RADIOHOP fully locked in, direct, dynamic, and unapologetic.
