London based artist simon a. opens a new chapter with HERRINGBONE, the first release in a run of singles landing in early 2026 and a clear shift toward a more R&B led sound. Known for weaving together R&B, hip hop, soul and indie, his work lives in the space between emotional honesty and quiet experimentation.

HERRINGBONE is a reflective take on love, self doubt and the pressure to feel “put together.” Using fashion and pattern imagery as a metaphor, simon explores the idea of “patterning up,” trying to impose order on the messiness of life while accepting that growth is rarely neat. The track pairs soulful vocals with subtle indie and hip hop textures, balancing vulnerability with a sense of forward motion.

Following a strong run that included his debut album the show, a sold out headline launch, and a boundary pushing visual rap mixtape released entirely outside streaming platforms, HERRINGBONE feels like a grounding moment. Stripped back, R&B focused and quietly confident, it captures the feeling of not being there yet, but trusting you’re on the way.
