WHO SHOT SCOTT - BAD GIRLS (Official Video)

Aotearoa artist WHO SHOT SCOTT is back in full confrontation mode with BAD GIRLS, a raw, emotionally loaded single lifted from his debut album HAIRY, out June 5.

The track digs into the cruelty of teenage social hierarchies, telling the story of losing a close friend to high school popularity politics. Once part of the cool crowd, she did not just drift away, she joined in on the bullying. It is uncomfortable, honest, and painfully familiar.

That kind of truth telling sits at the core of HAIRY, an album built from snapshots of Scott’s life between 13 and 18. The title itself comes from years of being bullied over body hair at school, something he has now reclaimed as a symbol of defiance and power. What was once used against him becomes the fuel for the project.

Across nine tracks, HAIRY swings between frantic punk rap chaos and moments of exposed vulnerability, pairing filthy high energy production with sharp introspection. BAD GIRLS stands out as one of the album’s most direct and unsettling moments, arriving alongside a video that reinforces themes of exclusion, identity, and self ownership.

Unpolished by design and emotionally fearless, HAIRY does not chase neat narratives or industry gloss. Instead, it leans into contradiction, rawness, and lived experience, cementing WHO SHOT SCOTT as one of the most uncompromising voices coming out of Aotearoa right now.
