Samm Henshaw - Hair Down (Single)

South London raised soul innovator Samm Henshaw kicks off 2024 with intention. His first single of the year, Hair Down, arrives alongside the long awaited announcement that It Could Be Worse, previously available only on vinyl, will finally land on streaming platforms on January 19th. The move follows overwhelming fan demand, after Samm proved there is still a powerful appetite for music beyond the algorithm, selling over 2000 vinyl copies by taking an intentionally anti digital route.

Hair Down reveals a lighter, more reassuring side of Samm’s artistry. Floating over a groove led soundscape, his effortless delivery offers comfort and perspective, before closing with a chant like release, “Let your hair down.” It is a fitting introduction to It Could Be Worse, a project shaped by personal upheaval and emotional growth, recorded for the first time entirely with live musicians during sessions in Los Angeles.

To celebrate the album’s release, Samm embarks on a 30+ date world tour spanning the US, Asia, and Europe, launching in Tokyo on January 27th and culminating in a homecoming show at KOKO, London, on March 24th. With intimate listening sessions already behind him and a BBC 1Xtra Live Lounge performance scheduled for January 20th, It Could Be Worse marks Samm Henshaw stepping confidently into a new era, vulnerable, intentional, and fully in control.
