Ms Banks - WHY? (Single)

South London’s own Ms Banks is back in her bag. Today she releases WHY?, the second single from her long awaited debut album SOUTH LDN LOVER GIRL, and it’s one of her most open moments yet.

A heart on sleeve cut, WHY? sees Banks lean into vulnerability, unpacking identity, lived experience and the realities of being a Black woman from South London. Over stripped back production from OGB and AJ Productions, she balances sharp rap verses with an emotive, melodic chorus, asking as many questions as she answers. It’s honest, reflective and quietly powerful, a statement piece rather than just another single.

The release lands alongside the announcement of the SOUTH LDN LOVER GIRL Tour, where Banks will perform music from the album live for the first time. The UK and EU run kicks off in Amsterdam before wrapping up with a headline homecoming show in London later this month.
