UK drum & bass heavyweight Hedex has dropped a new single, I Knew That This Was Love, featuring the soulful vocals of Maverick Sabre. It’s the latest glimpse of his debut album MHITR, due out 10 October via his own label.

Known for his explosive, high-energy sound, Hedex takes things in a more cinematic direction here. Skittering percussion and sweeping strings underpin a deep bassline, with Sabre’s emotive delivery pulling the track into new territory. It’s a striking contrast to last month’s rave-ready anthem Same Cycle with ArrDee and Digital Farm Animals, showing the full spectrum of Hedex’s artistry.
