FACTORY - FACTORY SUMMER (EP) + 10 Questions

FACTORY SUMMER: Meet the Collective Redefining DIY Pop.

FACTORY SUMMER has landed – and so has your new favourite collective. FACTORY, an all-female four-piece made up of Halima, Von, Murielle and Sophie Hintze, have just dropped their debut 3-track EP featuring BLOODLINE, STICKY TONGUE and BHH.

More than just a band, FACTORY is a self-managed, self-produced, self-written force of nature. Friends for nearly a decade, the group is built on community, collaboration and the refusal to play by industry rules – instead, they’ve built their own machine.

Each track captures a different side of their bond:

  • BLOODLINE digs deep into family wounds, empowerment and the decision to step away from toxic romance.

  • STICKY TONGUE is a loud-and-proud anthem for chosen family and sisterhood, pulling influence from Brockhampton, MUNA and The Spice Girls.

  • BHH is their take on a dark, queer club banger – equal parts lust and late-night swagger.

For FACTORY, the throughline is friendship. Their music is about growing, ageing and navigating love and betrayal – all while holding chosen family close.

Rooted in DIY ethos, they’re carving out a space that’s inclusive, independent and joyfully their own. FACTORY isn’t here to play the game. They’re here to change it.

FACTORY sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:

1. So tell me, how did it all begin, what sparked your love for music?

A few years ago we were doing this weekly workshop where we spent every Monday just acting as interchangeable parts of each others’ teams for our solo artist projects. Whether it was mixing notes, PR outreach, photo edits etc. , we would show up to help each other hustle our own projects, and called those sessions FACTORY. We never really considered actually making music together, mostly because we have such different sonic identities, but after writing with each other on a whim what came of it was too undeniable for us not to give it a shot. That was about 3 years ago, and since we’ve found so much fulfillment in synthesizing our unique artistic identities to make music as one collective.

2. Who are some artists that influence you?

BROCKHAMPTON, Odd Future, The Internet, Spice Girls, Destiny’s Child, TLC.

3. What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?

We’re finishing our upcoming single for the top of 2026 now. If you’ve been to any of our live shows or parties, you’ve heard it! Other than that, we’re always working on something. :)

4. How would you describe your sound?

Sexy, singular, sure of ourselves.

5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as a collective?

Probably performing at Terminal 5. That was a really big moment for all of us, and our first time prepping and performing a show together outside of our party series.

6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?

Know yourself, trust yourself, surround yourself with good people. Those are the things you have control over.

7. Are there any artists on your radar right now that we should check out?

It’s different for all of us, but our common thread is artists forging their own paths. We all have really different influences and tastes, but we all deeply appreciate artists doing things without a defined blueprint.

8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?

SWEET TOOTH, new Halima music just dropped ;)

9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?

Overstay our welcome at restaurants.

10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?

When we’re all together - caffeine, food, and good chat.
