Acopia Release Third Album Blush Response.

Naarm/Melbourne trio Acopia have returned with their third album Blush Response, out now on London/NYC label Scenic Route.

Known for their hushed intensity and stripped-back dream pop, the band distil their sound here into its most focused form yet. Across eight tracks, they explore distance, fragility, and the quiet weight of unspoken feelings – from the heaviness of See You in Everyone to the forward pull of Falter.

Recorded over the past year in Naarm, including an abandoned rooftop office in South Yarra scheduled for demolition, the album carries a bittersweet sense of impermanence that seeps into the music. There are also new turns: bassist Lachlan shares vocal duties for the first time on Let Down, a duet that adds fresh texture to Acopia’s sound.

Formed in 2018 by Kate Durman, Lachlan McGeehan, and Morgan Wright, Acopia began with a sparse, slow ethos and have steadily grown into a project defined by emotional openness and instinctive minimalism. Their 2023 self-titled LP won widespread praise, with Pitchfork calling it “a nod to 1980s ennui and 2020s anxiety.”

Now, with Blush Response, they present their clearest, boldest statement to date. The band are currently touring the UK and Europe, with sold-out shows in London, Paris, and Amsterdam, plus festival appearances at Wide Awake and Les Nuits Botanique.
