Native Flora: Cactus Corino & Treeboy - Native Flora (Album)
Native Flora hits like the midday sun commanding the concrete edges of city streets. It’s the sound of friends bumping into each other at a barbecue, deciding mid-drink to haul the party into the studio, and leaving chaos, questionable antics, and commotion in their wake.
Behind this sound is a team that lives and breathes music: Cactus Corino and Treeboy at the core, joined by KAO, Ryan Skillet, Jabz, jesi, Sherg and Haz The Kid shaping the tracks with their performances and production. Sumgii handles mix and mastering elevating every detail in a way only he could. Ben Warner shot the social media content, Sam Hooper crafted the striking cover artwork, and Benson does his thing on the back-end. Together, they’ve built a record that moves effortlessly across jazz, funk, bossa, and soul while retaining that UK hip-hop edge. Native Flora is a collective obsession, and it shows.
“What We Do” kicks things off as a chaotic posse cut. KAO, Skillet, and Jabz trade lines freely, unrestrained and experimental. It’s a track that sets the tone for the rest of the album: open-minded, playful, and unafraid to explore, capturing experiences and emotions without ever taking itself too seriously.
“Bad Dreaming,” “Late Night Drives,” and “Hungover Again” follow, reflecting on inner-city life. Long nights, hangovers, and moments of self-reflection are framed by the kind of production that will have hip-hop heads nodding with approval.
“Sundance” brings a brighter, carefree energy. While “Lido,” produced by Sherg, moves with funk-laced swagger, every beat strutting with confidence, a track that earned national radio recognition for good reason.
“Good Vibes Forever” featuring jesi and produced by Haz The Kid continues the reflective yet upbeat narrative, blending personal insight with catchy, smooth grooves that linger without overstaying their welcome.
Closing the album, “Now You’re Here” opens space after the chaos, threading men’s mental health and vulnerability throughout, reminding listeners: you’ve made it this far, you’re here, and it’s all good.
The live debut on Sunday, August 24th, at the multi-award-winning Black Rock Bars, Shoreditch will see the full team on stage. A one-night-only cocktail menu in collaboration with Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy brands, complements the performance: Treeboy’s signature The Tree (by Ardbeg) and Cactus Corino’s The Cactus (by Whistlepig). Every element - music, visuals, content, drinks - is curated lovingly, extending the world of Native Flora.
Native Flora is available on all major streaming platforms.
