Kinzoogianna - Queendom of Sound (I Love Music) (Single)

Kinzoogianna – ‘Queendom of Sound (I Love Music)’.

Kinzoogianna returns with flair on ‘Queendom of Sound (I Love Music)’, a lush jazz-hiphop homage that reimagines Hale Smith’s classic through a fiercely feminine lens. Drawing on the cinematic swagger of Shirley Bassey and the groove of Erykah Badu, the London-based producer, singer, and pianist (aka Anna Stubbs) fuses intricate drum programming, gospeltinged strings, flute, and rich organ textures into a genre-blending triumph.

“The kings of the keys kneel down to my digit queens,” she declares — a bold lyrical nod to her pianistic prowess and lifelong love of music. Long-time collaborator Rob Mullarkey (Jacob Collier, Jordan Rakei) lends weighty bass and expert mixing, further elevating this already cinematic cut.

Lifted from her forthcoming concept album The Clique of ’86 (out 12 Sept on Brotherly Music), this single is a commanding, soulful statement — and proof that Kinzoogianna’s musical queendom is one to watch.
