Kojey Radical Returns With "Conversation" and Announces New Album Don’t Look Down.

After three quiet years, East London’s own Kojey Radical is back — and he’s got something to say. His new single Conversation just dropped, and it’s the first real glimpse into his long-awaited sophomore album, Don’t Look Down, arriving this September.

Set against a disco-tinged groove and lifted by gospel vocals, Conversation is classic Kojey: introspective, poetic, raw. He raps like someone who’s seen a few things — about growing pains, changing people, and the clarity that comes when the noise fades. "Why did my twenties go by so soon?" he asks. It’s less a track, more a late-night heart spill — and it hits.

Speaking on the single, Kojey calls it “a love letter to my younger self and a time capsule for my angst.” Don’t Look Down, he says, is for the day-ones — the ones who held him down in silence and celebration alike. True to form, he didn’t launch the album with a tweet or TikTok — instead, he threw an intimate free party to give his core fans the first listen, face to face.

The album announcement comes alongside a trailer for a short film dropping with the album, and Kojey’s return has already been loud — from popping up at the Fête de la Musique block party in June to a standout moment during Ezra Collective’s Glastonbury set.

Kojey’s journey from local spoken word poet to one of British music’s most inventive voices has been nothing short of meteoric — Mercury-nominated, MOBO-nodded, and tapped by the British Fashion Council to host The Fashion Awards two years running. But with Don’t Look Down, he’s keeping it grounded — making art that speaks to survival, self-belief, and soul.

Welcome back, Kojey.
