Tim Lyre’s SPIRAL: A Deep Dive into Duality and Growth

Lagos-born artist Tim Lyre has just released his sophomore LP SPIRAL, out now via Johannesburg-London label Outer South. The 16-track album is a genre-spanning, soul-searching journey that weaves together afrobeats, neo-soul, highlife, and hip-hop with lyrical introspection and sonic flair.

Split into two sides, SPIRAL mirrors the emotional highs and lows of life—light and dark, struggle and serenity. Tracks like the dreamy ‘Miles’ and the ethereal ‘Rocketship’ invite listeners into Tim’s inner world, while ‘Pot Of Gold’ (ft. Joshua Baraka) and ‘Losing My Mind’ (ft. Binta) highlight his evolution as both vocalist and storyteller.

The project features a strong line-up of collaborators from across Africa and the UK, including Moelogo, Show Dem Camp, BOJ, Manana, and more. Whether spitting razor-sharp bars on ‘Popstar’ or exploring heartbreak on ‘Storytime’ with BINA., Tim balances range with a clear, emotional core.

Visuals directed by Chris Saunders add another dimension to the record, and fans can catch it all live at his headline show at Camden Assembly on September 25th.
