Rico Nasty has unveiled LETHAL ER, the expanded deluxe edition of her Fueled By Ramen debut LETHAL, and it is anything but a simple add on. Featuring five brand new tracks, “PEARLS”, “PRETEA”, “BLACK LACE”, “STUNNA” and previously released “PEPPER”, the project feels more like a bold teaser for what is coming next than a traditional deluxe. “It is a preview for what is next: LETHAL er, HARD er, SEXY er,” Rico explains, crediting collaborators Austin, Wyatt, Oscar and long time creative partner Kenneth Blume for shaping the sound.
Released earlier this year and executive produced by GRAMMY nominated Imad Royal, LETHAL marked a turning point for Rico. While it still crackles with her signature female rage, heavy guitars and sharp humour, the album also makes space for introspection and maturity, presenting Rico not just as a performer, but as an adult and a mother reckoning with the persona she created as a teenager.
That evolution has been reflected everywhere from her searing NPR Tiny Desk performance to a recent US tour finale at LA’s The Fonda, where she brought out guests including Hayley Williams and Teezo Touchdown. Beyond music, Rico is also stepping into acting, set to make her debut in Apple TV+ and A24’s Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
With LETHAL ER, Rico Nasty sounds unburdened, self assured and fully in control, less a look back, more a warning shot for whatever era comes next.
