Spanish-British artist Isabel today unveils her debut EP, “It Is That Deep”, a 5-track project and a bold, emotionally charged introduction to her artistry. Led by the single “All The Lies”, it captures the 24-year-old singer, songwriter and producer’s signature blend of understated confidence and heartfelt storytelling.

“I’ve always been dramatic about everything, even the small things,” Isabel laughs. “This EP is me owning that side of myself and turning it into something honest and a little bit funny too. It’s about feeling things deeply but learning to see the light in it.”

Born in Valencia and now based in Manchester, Isabel is a self taught musician with a background in jazz piano and inspirations ranging from Frank Ocean to Billie Eilish and RAYE. She began writing and producing from a young age in her bedroom before moving to the UK to refine her craft at BIMM Manchester, where her sound started to take shape. Her bilingual roots remain central to her artistry, with Spanish and English flowing effortlessly through both her singing and songwriting. After first catching attention with a soulful cover of Thee Sacred Souls’ Can I Call You Rose”, Isabel has continued to carve out her own path - all self written and self produced, with a select few collaborations, including work with TSB and George Moore. Now signed to Relentless/Sony, she’s steadily building momentum as an artist whose voice carries a rare power and versatility, matched by a creative vision that marks her out as one to watch.

With “It Is That Deep”, Isabel is unafraid to be honest, expressive and a little bit dramatic. The EP opens with “All The Lies”, a confident statement piece built around a classic hip-hop break and rich vocal layering, showcasing Isabel’s flair for both production and the rich texture of her vocals. Delusional”, an anthem of self-belief co-produced with TSB (Dave, J Hus), flips past pain into playful empowerment, while Petty”, leans into her sassier alter ego, offering a sharp, melodic clap-back to doubt and dismissal. On “Despacio”, Isabel writes to her future self, weaving Spanish and English lyrics to explore patience and identity, before closing track “Kidding Around” brings a sense of resolution, a joyful nod to healing the inner child.

To celebrate the release Isabel will headline at Servant Jazz Quarters, London on 28th October before taking the stage at Live at Leeds on 15th November, as well as performing in Madrid (Sala B) on 20th November.

With “It Is That Deep”, Isabel cements herself as a distinctive new voice. She is reflective, fearless and full of intent. These songs mark the beginning of an artist stepping confidently into her own spotlight.

Isabel sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:

1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?

I think I was born loving music. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t obsessed with it. I have pictures of me as a baby in my dad’s arms while he plays piano, and many others of me as a young child learning to play by myself. I always learned alone, I didn’t know it then but I was writing my first melodies as a kid already. I picked it up very naturally and just kept discovering instruments and interests along the way. I’d say living in a family where music was always a very important part of life made me give value to music. So it became my everything.

2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?

Growing up in Spain my mother would always play Pablo Alborán. He definitely has inspired the way I write in Spanish, melodically and lyrically. I also grew up listening to Jamie Cullum a lot, so he’s always been a massive inspiration. I was obsessed with learning the chords to his songs by ear, and in doing so I was learning jazz. Working with him would just make my younger self implode - and my parents too. My more recent influences and music that I listen to day to day would be Frank Ocean, Raye, Billie Eilish and Amber Mark. These are people that I admire a lot and would be incredible to write with - huge inspirations for my recent work.

3. What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?

I’m so excited that my EP ‘It Is That Deep’ is coming out on October 24th. It has 5 tracks, 4 of which I co-produced from my bedroom studio. These songs have been demos on my laptop for years now and it’s been a very cathartic experience to let all these feelings go. They will now live with the people that listen to my music, however they relate to the content. This EP encapsulates my experience living in my early 20s, going through heartbreak and finding the strength to keep going. Each of these songs is me coping with something - me getting home devastated, sitting at my laptop and pouring myself into it.

4. How would you describe your sound?

It’s hard for me to pinpoint exactly what my sound is sometimes, as I think I’m still evolving. I’ve found that the songs that I’m writing now are different to the songs I wrote 4 years ago and I’m sure my songs will be different in the future too. But what I do find consistent in all my work is the importance of the vocals. I’m in love with vocal production and layering harmonies. If my projects have one thing in common it’s that they all have an alarming amount of vocal tracks. So I’d say my sound is: soulful, deep vocals on a bed of harmonies, with Spanish and English influences, modern Pop/RnB.

5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?

It sounds funny to say that my proudest moment was going viral. I wouldn’t like to admit that because it might make me sound shallow. But it’s not about actually going viral, it’s about the way it changed my life and the impact it had on my career. It made me feel like that dream that seemed so far away might be within reach. I got signed to a record label quickly after and even got to go to LA for the first time that same summer. I now finally get to release my music, the songs that I’ve been working on for years now have a way to see the light of day. So, as shallow as it may seem that was the moment that changed a lot for me.

6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?

The only thing I try to tell myself when I’m feeling hopeless , when a song is not landing or my videos aren’t doing well, is that everything can change in a moment. We live in a world now where anyone can post a song and reach thousands. It’s sometimes luck, but luck better catch you working. So just keep working until that strike of luck hits. Then you’ll be ready for it.

7. Are there any artists on your radar right now that we should check out?

I think some artists to check out are: Sissy Ford, MICHELLE, AJ Galley and Alicia Creti.

8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?

Hit Me Hard And Soft (Billie Eilish), An Evening With Silk Sonic (Silk Sonic), The Art of Loving (Olivia Dean).

9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?

I’m generally into anything creative, I love to paint, do crafts or anything my grandmother would do. You can mostly find me hanging out with my friends or my cat and living a pretty chill life.

10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?

My phone (for writing lyrics), some sort of physical instrument that’s not electronic and a good pair of headphones.
