Nightmares On Wax and Sadie Walker Unite on “True” Ahead of Echo45 Sound System.

Nightmares On Wax has dropped a new single, “True”, featuring returning collaborator Sadie Walker, lifted from his forthcoming project Echo45 Sound System – out 14th November via Warp Records.

Walker’s ethereal vocals glide between strength and vulnerability, woven through dub-infused and electronic textures that form the backbone of the new record. The track offers a tantalising glimpse into what promises to be one of Nightmares On Wax’s most expansive and soulful projects yet.

The pair’s creative journey began back in 2018 with “Deep Shadows”, leading to global tours and a lasting artistic partnership. Since then, Walker has emerged as one of London’s most distinctive voices – channelling the spirit of Erykah Badu, Nina Simone, and Lauryn Hill while crafting a sound that sits perfectly between soul and electronic.

Echo45 Sound System is more than an album – it’s a living, breathing sound system experience. Across 13 tracks, Nightmares On Wax (aka George Evelyn) brings together a stellar cast including Yasiin Bey, Greentea Peng, and Liam Bailey, alongside vocal drops from UK tastemakers Gilles Peterson, Goldie, Daddy G, Natasha Diggs, and more.

Styled and creatively directed by designer Nicholas Daley, the project celebrates identity, heritage, and the cultural heartbeat of UK sound system history. Yet, despite its deep collaborative spirit, Echo45 remains unmistakably Nightmares On Wax – grounded in roots, hip-hop, and dub, yet reaching ever forward.

The full album lands digitally on 14th November, with a gold vinyl 2LP following on 5th December. It arrives ahead of a special Royal Albert Hall performance on 12th March 2026, marking 30 years of Smokers Delight and 20 years of In A Space Outta Sound. Expect a full live band, string quartet, choir, and surprise guests – a celebration worthy of his legacy.
