Blaqbonez Drops No Excuses: A Bold New Chapter for African Hip-Hop.

Nigerian rapper and singer Blaqbonez has just dropped his highly anticipated fourth studio album, No Excuses — and it’s every bit as ambitious as fans hoped. Alongside the release, he’s shared a cinematic visual for Consistency, directed by DON Prod and featuring AJ Tracey, blending Lagos flair with West London grit.

The 17-track project is stacked with talent: Pa Salieu, Phyno, Olamide, Bella Shmurda, Zinoleesky, and more all make appearances, with heavyweight production from Jae5, Magicsticks, Blaisebeatz, and Black Culture. From the high-energy Bizzy Body to the experimental Aura 4 Aura with Pa Salieu, No Excuses is a sharp, genre-blurring statement of intent.

Recorded partly in London, the album reflects Blaqbonez’s deep ties to the UK scene — a connection he’s cemented not just through music but fashion. Earlier this month, he made history as the first Nigerian artist to walk for Vivienne Westwood, also spotted front row at Vetements, MAINS, and Labrum.

Born Akumefule Chukwuemeka George, Blaqbonez has built a reputation for fearless experimentation, fusing Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Drill, and Alté into his own unmistakable sound. His previous record, Emeka Must Shine, snagged the 2023 Headies Award for Best Rap Album, while hits like LIKE ICE SPICE and NO SLEEP $$$ kept him on repeat across playlists worldwide.

Describing No Excuses as his “Super Saiyan era,” Blaqbonez is clearly operating at a new creative level — bold, unapologetic, and boundary-pushing. With each release, he’s not just repping Nigerian rap on the global stage — he’s redefining it.
