Le Kaiju - Tunnel (EP)

In this project, Le Kaiju immerses us in the tunnel of their transition from adolescence to adulthood as a queer person: a journey through solitude and shadows to emerge into a space of freedom and light.
In this tunnel, French rap meets the bass of Chicago Juke and the drums of New Jersey, while piano samples reminding us of J Dilla take us back to a certain melancholy found in 90s boom bap.
Most beats were created entirely by Le Kaiju, apart from RoyalOCheese and Cékoissa which were a collaboration with their “twin” Sujigashira.
After an explosive first single featuring rapper Kaba (Délire), the EP drops today (14th November) on Grand Remplacement Records.
Le Kaiju is a transgressive entity, defying the boundaries of genre and form—a hybrid of sounds and styles that, once blended, give meaning and unity to chaos.
Originally from Paris, France, LeKaiju is a polymorphic artist: DJ, producer, performer, writer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. They make clubs vibrate and electrify the scene with explosive, incendiary shows.
Non-conformist both musically and in terms of gender, LeKaiju pushes limits by mixing jazz, hip-hop, bass music, juke, and many other influences, embodying the complexity and contradictions of our era. With a highly percussive sound, their music focuses on intensity and the power of rhythm.
A major player in Paris’s vibrant club scene, they are a resident on Rinse FM and have attracted attention by opening for iconic artists such as MykkiBlanco, AscendantVierge, BonnieBanane, and Eloi.
