Fresh off an epic Carnival weekend which saw Bashy perform at Shy FX’s Digital Soundboy, Deviation and Rampage Soundsystems, the artist now announces a headline show at the capital’s historic Bush Hall on Wednesday 13th November 2024. The hometown show will see Bashy joined on stage by a full live band, plus some very special guests, for what promises to be an unforgettable live return for the West London born-and-raised rapper.

Bashy said - “I’m pleased to announce my debut headline show at Bush Hall. The new record is really resonating with people and it’s a special one for me too... Now I’m just so looking forward to performing it live, with a full band, some special guests… Celebrating this moment, this music with an audience, together.”

Last week saw the release of a brand new video for ‘How Black Men Lose Their Smile’, the fourth single to be taken from the new album ‘Being Poor is Expensive’.

The London rapper made a long-awaited return to music this summer with the release of a brand new studio album - “...a masterpiece” [THE WIRE] - titled Being Poor is Expensive, produced by Toddla T and Bashy, featuring guests including ScrapzRoses Gabor and HAILE. The first track to drop, ‘Sweet Boys Turned Sour, features soulful melodies, pounding 808s and a Jamaican dancehall influenced sub-bass in a rich, intentionally layered track which vividly illustrates Bashy’s prowess as a wordsmith and storyteller. Second single ‘Sticky’  saw the artist embrace the essence of his Grime roots - and includes a nod to UK garage pioneer Sticky - on a track inspired by those early years and his time on pirate radio; while third single ‘Blessed ft. Skrapz and Haile’ brought Bashy together with North West London rapper Skrapz and West London rapper Haile for a collaboration sonically inspired by the UK garage and dancehall beats of Bashy’s early years. THE QUIETUS described Being Poor is Expensive as “...a heart-rending gut punch about love and hope. It is Bashy on top form.”
