Doller - Call Me (EP)
Grime’s general Doller is back in full effect with a fresh new genre-bending EP entitled “Call Me”. The project is comprised of three tracks, each belonging to a different genre: garage, trap-dancehall and trap-soul. Being highly creative and a master of twisting sounds and creating new angles, Doller created “Call Me” to showcase his versatility as an artist in an unique way - the 3-track EP contains three different versions of the same song which also gave the name of the project “Call Me”.
The star of the EP is the garage version which was created first as a means to deliver a happy vibe to the listeners and also offer women a song to sing along to. The two other versions of “Call Me” were created around the garage track which is also the leading single of the EP that was released at the end of September together with a vibrant video. Although it’s a very short project, “Call Me” tailors to the majority of music lovers as it serves three different flavours of the same dish.
Throughout his career the Edmonton-hailing-artist has received cosigns from multiple influential figures within the music scene such as Ghetts, Tion Wayne, DJ Target, Charlie Sloth, Sian Anderson, Sir Spyro, Wiley, Logan Sama and many others. His music has been featured on one of MTV’s Base adverts and was also the soundtrack of the movie “Sket”.
The son of roots reggae singer Kush Tafari and nephew of Jamaican rapper Flash, Doller has lived his whole life surrounded by music. Starting at the age of 16 he began his music career as a grime MC and since then has slowly transitioned into rap, dancehall and trap-soul which are the main sounds he plays with.
Well known for his versatility and lyrical ability and with over 15 years of making music under his belt, Doller has a vast audience which stretches from the UK where his largest fan hub is all the way to the US, South America and Jamaica. His listenership is primarily over 25-years-old and tends to be male dominated, however his music is highly appealing to females as well.
“Call Me” is Doller’s unique way of wrapping up 2023 with a creative bang and is expected to be very well received due to its versatility and feel-good energy which is present throughout the project.
