The Isle Of CC - Little Black Dress (Music Video)

After a musical hiatus to find her direction, our very own ‘The Isle of CC’ is back with her first single off the ‘Void’ EP called ‘Little Black Dress’. A rally cry to herself more than anything, Little Black Dress is a sultry smooth song that captures the essence of young romance and feeds it to you on a mature palette of instrumentals and neo-soul vocals.

The song is written to put the viewer in the fantasy of the relationship, when asked to describe the track The Isle of CC writes. “At its core, the song is about the fantasy of a relationship, but not truly being in one. I’ve written the lead and backing vocals in such a way that the song ebbs and flows between fantasy and reality. The experiences that led to ‘Little Black Dress’ taught me growth not only as an artist, but as a human being.”

The video captures that push and pull between CC and her partner. The softness of the colours carries that idyllic memory like qualities, depicting the more beautiful sides of love whereas the evident distance between the protagonists illustrate that love is never as easy as it seems. It’s a wonderful way to capture The Isle of CC’s first song and it bodes well for the future voice of UK neo-soul.
