Slumberville - Harmony (Album)

Prolific Swedish producer Slumberville has released Harmony, his latest studio album. Harmony was preceded by a unique release cycle, as Slumberville opted to release each song on the record one-by-one, until the final product had been revealed.

Harmony is a warm and emotive lo-fi record, primarily rooted in instrumental hip-hop, electronica and ambient stylings. The album is picked with brief, but often beautiful tracks that encompass Slumberville’s wide range of influences. As a result, a wasted moment on Harmony is difficult to find.

Harmony is a melting pot for all the music genres that I love. I love blending genres and to cross-pollinate them in a Slumberville environment
— Slumberville

Instrumentally, multiple tracks create irresistible melodic soundscapes - the most prominent examples being ‘Bliss’, ‘What a Great Feeling’, and ‘Norrland’, the latter of which is inspired by North Sweden. Slumberville also showcases much versatility, in one way through the quirkiness of ‘Paraná River’, and in another through the triumphant opening track ‘For the Win’. The introversion that Harmony often evokes is reminiscent of Nicolas Jaar’s 2011 album Space Is Only Noise, but through a less abstract and more hip-hop-oriented prism. Slumberville’s latest is sure to resonate with listeners who seek that introverted atmosphere.

Harmony is now available on conventional streaming platforms. You can listen to the full record below.
