Mukhy - Posh Life (Official Video)

Almost a year on from the success of his debut EP Posh Nation, which put him on the radar across West Africa, up-and-coming British Nigerian afrofusion artist MUKHY is excited to kick off his 2022 with the infectious music video for his new single ‘POSH LIFE’, as he gears up to release his sophomore EP Kid Reborn in the spring. Produced by Ransom Beatz, who has previously worked with the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Backroad Gee and Yung Filly, and featuring burgeoning Nigerian crooners Babbz and Sasuk3, ‘Posh Life’ is Mukhy’s invitation to all of us to join him in living the good life this year!

From the groovy UK afroswing production to Mukhy’s commanding rap verses to the infectious sing-along chorus and smooth R&B-esque bridge, ‘Posh Life’ has all the makings of a massive offering. The captivating track also comes with a cinematic music video that was shot across three different countries. Directed by Nigerian filmmaker and photographer Nosachii, whose previous credits include working with Davido, Omah Lay and Blaqbonez, among others, the lively and vibrant visuals do amazingly well to bring the already catchy track to life, and makes for highly recommended viewing.

Speaking about the inspiration for ‘Posh Life’, Mukhy says, “I recorded ‘Posh Life’ after an ex attempted to make me feel jealous. I don’t really emit that type of energy, so instead I walked up to the guy next to her and said the opening line, ‘See the gyal on your shoulder, that’s my old spice’. Safe to say he did not take it well. The braggadocious feeling stuck with me when I got to the studio and ‘Posh Life’ was the result of that session. Essentially though, ‘Posh Life’ is all about having a good time and living a good life, staying away from envy, bad vibes and negative energy, and exuding positivity”.
