Hailing from South London, upcoming artist dexter has released her newest single ‘Blue Skies’, accompanied by a laid back, summer-themed music video. The single and video have been launched on the self-described ‘creative incubator’ Common Knowledge, via AWAL.

dexter is the moniker of Charmaine, an 18-year-old who is already garnering millions of streams. ‘Blue Skies’, the latest entry in her growing catalogue, is a lush and soulful expression of a longing for warmer, brighter days. dexter’s delicate vocals and vulnerable lyricism are perfectly complemented by expressive guitar riffs and airy basslines.

The accompanying video for ‘Blue Skies’, directed by Amity Bloc, is an endearing one; for the most part it’s Charmaine and a group of her friends on a day out, enjoying time together, but it’s only these kind of impromptu visuals that could perfectly capture the spontaneous and carefree spirit that dexter is reflecting on in her lyrics.
