Sahxl - C4 (Official Video)

For an avid music listener, there is no better feeling than hearing a song and knowing you’ve discovered a young artist on the brink of superstardom. Unveiling the music video for his new single “C4”, 18 year-old Australian singer-songwriter Sahxl is quickly proving himself as artist that everyone should be paying attention to. Like his last single, “DEMONS”, which was featured on the cover of Spotify’s “The Drip” playlist, on “C4”, Sahxl showcases his signature ability to switch seamlessly from braggadocio rapping to Chris-brown style vocal riffing. On the track, Sahxl exudes confidence as he affirms his intention of blowing up “like a C4”, but as a young emerging star who has a lot to prove, listeners can still hear the sheer hunger in his vocal delivery. The instrumental, produced by Khaled Rohaim, is energetic and aggressive, yet melodic and catchy, which is quite frankly a perfect fit for Sahxl’s style.

In the music video, the Sydney-artist showcases his taste for the high-life as he is shown in designer clothing riding around in expensive-looking Rolls Royces. Still, behind his confident demeanor, Sahxl shows glimpses of earnestness in his lyrics mentioning a girl who “left him alone and in the dark.” In the video, we see him shown alone solemnly dancing under the moonlight, starkly contrasting the other shots of him flexing in front of expensive cars and houses. It highlights the duality of an emerging hip-hop star who unapologetically believes in himself, but despite his otherworldly musical abilities, is still only human and certainly not immune to feelings of loneliness and heartbreak.
