Introducing Sweeney, who has been putting bars together from a very early age – in school no less! The Tottenham lad has been going from strength to strength off the back of a big freestyle back in 2016 and a selection of solid releases since. We caught up with the tearaway artist himself for a quickfire round of 10Qs…

1. Contestant, what’s your name, chosen craft and where are you based?

My Names Sweeney I’m an artist and I’m from Enfield in North London

2. How would you describe your sound?

A lot of people tell me I have a very good beat selection and sound choice, as well telling me I have a wide range of music and I agree because thats been my intentional purpose to create a wider range of music all of which still being considered good sound that a lot of people can vibe with.

3. Who/what do you consider to be the biggest influence on your music?

I would say my family as all of us are music listeners, I learned a lot of old school songs from my mums cds and playlists as a kid. My dad also had a music setup and used to make music as-well.

4. What’s the proudest moment to date for you as an artist?

Appearing on radio stations and playing in shops like Nike and Adidas with my first release Rubicon. It’s encouraging to see a positive reaction from people out there in the world

5. Do you have any advice for our readers who maybe trying to play the mad game of music?

Get stuck in if its something you want to do,  because thats the only way its going to prove to yourself if thats really something you really have a passion for, I feel like some people do music for other reasons which isn’t a crime but its like if you are trying to a make a career of it.  You got to get in the studio or start writing up a lot of tracks. Also do them one at time and make sure they’re completed fully having 10 unfinished tracks is no good!

6. Name 3 people you would love to work with and why?

I would love to work with C36 I think he’s hard man for real. I feel like he’s got a lot of recognition already but I feel like he’s due to drop some crazy hits near future so take in his music he’s got alot out.

Next person I would say would be DEE his last joint #DatWay was hard he’s another one thats been dropping consistently good music in my opinion.

My last choice would be Ricky Banks you know he dropped one track called Outside that one there is mad his flow is certified.

7. What have you got planned for the not so distant future?

Working on some more single releases, and I got some projects coming out sooner rather than later so be sure to keep up with the latest updates!

8. What’s the album you’ve played more than any other?

That would have to be F.I.L.M by DLK that tape is crazy I like the variation in beats on the tape, I also managed to land a spot on the outro Big Facts which is one of my favourites still to date. Favours and LFTM some big tacks be sure to have a listen.

9. What’s the best concert you’ve been to and where was it?

Seeing Nas live back in 2014. That was an unforgettable night man O2 arena lit up is something special for real i’m telling you he performed cherry wine as on The life is good tape, rest in peace Amy Winehouse thats some good music.

10. Name three things you can’t live without?

The studio cause right now I’m basically living there it’s mad. I’ve recently been able to give a lot more time into it.

Love my trainer collection but thats a little bit more than one trainer. Got to have options!

Follow Sweeney for the latest releases and news. Difference is out now everywhere and be sure to rinse the back catalogue, there’re some gems in there!
