We’re always on the lookout for new sounds and different voices. Over the past year, we’ve been blessed with the soulful sounds from the likes of Jorja Smith, Mahalia and Joy Crookes. Now, we’re shining a spotlight on Maddee.

The 21-year-old Toronto-based vocalist’s talents are well beyond her years and her jazz-infused R&B vibes have got us hooked. Having opened for the likes of Willow Smith and Lil Yachty, as well as being featured on Majestic Casual, we expect big things for Maddee.

Her stand-out EP Red Mind, out now, is full of depth and emotion, with her ethereal vocal inflections blending into the melodies of her melancholy tracks. Spanning negative relationships, fluctuating moods and emotions and navigating womanhood. Clouds, one of our favourites from this 6-track EP, takes you on a magical journey, with a slow, lethargic percussion accompanied by stuttering organs and Maddee’s gentle vocals.

For fans of Charlotte Day Wilson and Desta French, Maddee offers a new kind of soul that we can definitely get behind.

For more information on Maddee, check out her Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
