Becoming: Nas

Interesting short documentary series from the heads responsible for producing a few films on recent times, this particular series features a rather humbled Nasir Jones just before he’s due to headline Rock The Bells festival in California. I’d highly recommend giving this a watch as Nas looks back on memories of his home town Queensbridge, how he incorporated that into his music, attending his first Hip-Hop gig, production of Ilmatic and the first time he heard himself on radio. What was quite refreshing to hear was how much music actually meant to him and that he was still churning out albums because thats what mattered to him.

All in all though for a short documentary it rounds up his beginnings from youth to the talented rapper he is today, even featuring a rather heartfelt onstage tribute to Illmatics Producer Large Professor.
