“PANIC!!! It crept up my spine like first rising vibes of an acid frenzy. There I was. Alone in Las Vegas, completely twisted on drugs, no cash, no story for the magazine, and on top of everything else, a gigantic god damned hotel bill to deal with…”
Kingdom Of Fear, the brand new ‘concept’ album from Hip Hop junkies Jehst and Kashmere is in-stores today! Inspired by the subversive work of the late, great Hunter S Thompson, the creator of Gonzo journalism, best known for the drug-fuelled phenomenon Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, the album is a truly one-off project fuelled by a dope on plastic ethic that will take listeners on an epic journey over the edge… and beyond!!!
Stronger than a dose of DMT and harder hitting than a bath salt binge session Kingdom of Fear will leave you strung out and fiending for more!
This album drops today! Here’s the review from the latest issue of Wordplay
If I said to you an Iguana man was set to release an album with a strong connection with the works of Dr Hunter S. Thompson being the driving force behind its concept, all of which had been overseen by a High Plains Drifter you would probably be checking my pupils for dilation right?….Wrong we had a very out of place looking postman fling this past wordplay HQ with strict instructions on keeping this on the D’Lo until its released officially, I for one have never had no love for her royal majesty’s servicemen, so were gonna drop you an exclusive review while keeping the identity a firm secret.
Dr. Hunter S.Thompson was lets face it a fucking badman having such a definitive subject to conjure up a whole album around couldn’t of fell at more fitting feet, feet that have completely run away with the show, taking descriptive story weaving to new levels.
This album is laced with originality its almost a new breed of thorough bred genius, crafted from small pinches of hand picked influences, styles and visions combining the already concreted talents of our mystery rapper with some of the dopest cuts and productions yet to grace my grateful ears.

Metaphors, similes and doubled bladed wordplays pepper dash this album like a gunfight at sundown, from the initial track your slung straight into the beginnings of a bleary roller coaster ride through multi layered references to various narcotic usage a sultry sax warps itself between a distinctive deliverance. Hearing my previously mentioned overseer join the iguana man on the same tracks is nothing short of a pleasant reminisce. Throughout the album I couldn’t help but note the perfect unity between production and the flow our rapper obtains, each track offers something completely different from the last, whether that be a craftily inserted percussion loop or an attention-grabbing rift that reverberates around the room something stands out on each and etches itself upon you. Being part of creating classics is something that isn’t foreign to the affialted artist’s in question, with such a sturdy delivery style nothing short of marvelous gets encrypted on this album, every track gets gripped by wizened hands and throttled persuasively until every drop of creativity and dopeness is drained from it. Being able to continue a theme through a whole album id imagine is flipping hard, something that seems to be completely over looked when listening to this album story plots, scenarios and scenes are fabricated in your mind without you even knowing, a real sign that a fucking veteran has been at work. This is a epically gigantic release, from its outstanding production and its at times trippy verses through to the unmeasurable talent leaking from its 14 tracks believe me when I say when “Kingdom Of Fear “drops your going to know about, its flipping hard to review without giving to much away, if you know your shit then you already know who it is, for people who aren’t quite as clicked on I advise you not to sleep on this one, these two uniting on an album is really quite something special, they work together like well greased machine spitting out intoxicating slews and deafening sounds, both are fucking legends within our scene and deserve our full attention and appreciation be sure to support this.
