Stig Of The Dump: Cannon Fodder EP

Once again Stig of the Dump has graced us with a new hard hitting EP. With the accompany of producer Pete Cannon; Cannon Fodder EP shows Stig’s vexation towards what life throws at him, bringing it to complete boiling point on the final track.

One is undoubtedly the best way to start an EP that has artwork of ‘Team Hate’ written on a t-shirt. Using a sample of the classic song ‘One is the loneliest number’, Stig creates a new hate anthem for anyone who has been fucked over in a relationship. Work Hard and Head Banger Boy both represent the struggle of the money grabbing life style that surrounds us, followed by more hate than ever towards the music industry. It is clear from this listen that the independence of the scene is a sore subject that’s close to the artists heart, yet his passion and love for the music is still clearly captured with rhymes like “I’ll be hip hop till my body gets left to rot”.

If you want to get your teeth into some classic, to the point Stig of the Dump bars then this EP should be getting rinsed through your speakers for a very long time. And although this five track is not necessarily one to kick back to due to the intensity of its beats, it should still have your undivided attention.
