NanaBcool - Open Case (Single)

Open Case’ is the new single by Ghanaian-American R&B singer NanaBcool. The song addresses being in an open relationship and the questions you get from homies around and if you really about that life. Underlined by a butter smooth instrumental produced by Berlin based multi-instrumentalist and producer DHANYA, it’s a comment with a wink on a situationship most of us found ourselves in at one point in our lives.

NanaBcool is a multi-talented singer and songwriter whose sound revolves around RnB, Hip hop and Soul. With his roots in Ghana and growing up in Columbus, Ohio, Nana found his footing in the NYC scene in early 2013 performing heavily in the LES and Brooklyn scene, playing support shows for Wiz Khalifa, Wale, Aminé and more.

He has since released projects and singles collaborating with artists and producers such as Jafunk, Romderful, and Nic Hanson, while also co-writing records for Ghanaian-American artist Amaarae. Naturally, Nana's music is a blend of different styles, but always pays tribute to his African roots. His signature is his ability to seamlessly switch from rap to melody while controlling the tempo on every track.

He's been featured as an MTV Push artist alongside Jack Harlow while also having music featured on Soulection Radio, BBC Sounds, Apple Music’s The Ebro Show and more. He recently released his album Good Luck Vol. 1 which landed him a string of shows through Germany. Recently Nana has relocated to Berlin, Germany.

“I grew up in a musical family where my dad and my uncles all played piano either in the church or in Jazz bands. I started off as a dancer learning everything from Michael Jackson, Usher and Ginuwine. While singing in church choirs and school show choirs I developed the skill of performance. It was around this time where I built my first home studio recording mixtapes with friends in the neighborhood. Fast forward to college I began singing in bands and opening up for artists such as Wale, Wiz Khalifa and K'naan. After graduating from college, local Columbus group Fly Union (Kendrick Lamar, Dom Kennedy, Currensy) took me under their wing and produced and recorded my first solo EP ‘Rm 102’, teaching me the ins and outs of being an artist. Soon after I spent time in Chicago, Atlanta and eventually moved to New York City where I honed my craft making my name in the NYC scene releasing albums, playing shows and even helping with the building of a studio, The Joint Recording Bushwick, Brooklyn.”
